Operations Research
Welcome at the Optimization of Business Processes (OBP) research group of the Department of Mathematics. These pages give an overview of our research activities, and are meant both for practitioners and academics. We are active in the mathematical modeling of random processes. Our main tool is queueing theory. We work on the further development of it, but we also apply queueing theory to application areas such as call centers, telecom, computer networks, health care, logistics, and so forth. Next to that we teach, mainly for the Mathematics and Business Mathematics & Informatics programs.
