Consultancy

We have contacts with many companies and institutions in different sectors, such as finance, production and distribution logistics, and health care. As practically oriented scientists we are always interested to get in contact with companies all over the world to discuss problems that are possibly related to our fields of interest. Different forms of cooperations are possible, with or without the involvement of students.

We invite companies to contact us with problems or business cases for which they think that our expertise might be helpful in solving them. Possible forms of cooperation include:

• Consultancy projects. We often do jointly with one or more graduate students, small consultancy projects. We are interested in projects that require advanced quantitative techniques. We do not compete with regular consultancy firms: our main objective is to learn, not to earn. Next to that, our level of expertise is beyond that of most companies, and we concentrate on the quantitative issues. We sometimes cooperate with consultancy firms or other service providers on the more mathematical issues of their projects.
• Educational services. One of our main tasks is educating our students on how to solve quantitative problems. We also offer talks and seminars to other (professional) groups.
• Student internships. Regularly master students Business Mathematics and Informatics look for suitable internships. For more information, see the internship office.
