Frank Bruggeman appointed as Extraordinary Chair in Mathematics and Systems Biology

The Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Exact Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Frank J. Bruggeman as Extraordinary Chair in Mathematics and Systems Biology.

Dr. Bruggeman is Junior Group Leader of the Systems Biology of Molecular Regulatory Networks Life Sciences Group at the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica. The convergence of the scientific languages used by mathematicians and systems biologists forms an ideal basis for high-level, fundamental, interdisciplinary research. Dr. Bruggeman's ambitions and proven qualities in his excellent research and inspiring teaching along with his expertise in mathematical systems biology make him the ideal candidate for this position. On May 16, Dr. Bruggeman will speak at the department's staff colloquium and there will be opportunity to welcome him and congratulate him to his appointment.
