Teun Koetsier Honorary Member of IFtoMM and Winner of the 2019 ASME Engineer Historian Award

The International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) has conferred Honorary Membership upon Teun Koetsier, associate professor of mathematics (retired) at VU University. Moreover, he has been named the winner of the 2019 Engineer-Historian Award of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

In July 2019, at its 15th World Congress in Krakow, Poland, the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) has conferred Honorary Membership upon Teun Koetsier, associate professor of mathematics (retired) at VU University as a recognition of a lifetime of accomplishments in machine and mechanism science. Moreover, he has been named the winner of theĀ  2019 Engineer-Historian Award of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This award is made in recognition of hisĀ  book entitled, The Ascent of GIM, the Global Intelligent Machine - A History of Production and Information Machines, Springer 2019. The award will be presented to him in November 2019 during ASME's International Mechanical Engineering Congress in Salt Lake City, Utah.
